Position Summary:We are seeking a passionate and skilled Secondary Science Teacher. This role offers the opportunity to teach science subjects to students in KS3-KS5. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in shaping the academic future of students, guiding them through challenging coursework and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Effective Teaching: Deliver engaging and interactive science lessons that align with the national curriculum, focusing on the development of practical and theoretical knowledge.
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Plan, prepare, and execute well-structured lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Student Engagement: Foster a classroom environment where students are motivated to participate, inquire, and engage with science concepts through experiments, discussions, and hands-on activities.
- Assessment & Reporting: Monitor and assess student progress through regular assignments, projects, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Differentiation: Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the individual learning styles and needs of all students.
- Collaborative Planning: Work closely with other teachers in the science department and across subjects to coordinate the curriculum and share best practices.
- Student Support: Provide additional academic support to students through one-on-one sessions, group study sessions, and after-school programs.
- Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the science curriculum to keep it relevant and engaging for students.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching secondary school science, with a strong understanding of relevant subject content and curriculum standards.
- Passion for science education and a commitment to creating a dynamic and inspiring learning environment.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Proficient in using technology to support teaching and learning, such as interactive whiteboards and online learning platforms.
- Ability to assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively.
- Experience teaching a range of science subjects.
