Science Teacher Needed in London!

APEX EDUC8 is excited to work closely with local secondary schools in London to recruit experienced Science Teachers who can support the learning and development of students and contribute to the school's overall growth.

We are looking for enthusiastic Science Teachers who can build strong working relationships with students, helping them engage with lessons. Ideally, candidates will have experience teaching across all science disciplines: Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. However, we will also consider teachers with a specialism in one area.

Location: London

Contract: Term to Perm

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Rate: £20 - £34 per hour (DOE)

Hours: 8:30 AM 4 PM

You Must:

  • Hold valid Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have an Enhanced Child DBS on the update service.
  • Provide two professional references.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive science lesson plans that engage students and adhere to curriculum standards across key stages.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Regularly assess student progress through various methods, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive classroom atmosphere that fosters student curiosity and a passion for science.
  • Encourage students to explore and question the natural world, promoting scientific thinking and inquiry-based learning.
  • Work alongside fellow teachers to share best practices, participate in professional development, and engage in school events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification(Candidates without QTS but with relevant teaching experience will also be considered).
  • Proven experience teaching science to secondary school students within the UK education system.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum for science, particularly at the GCSE level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with students and staff alike.
  • Strong classroom management skills to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative teaching team.
  • A strong dedication to providing high-quality education and supporting the academic and personal development of all students.
