Science Teacher for SEMH School – West Drayton (Uxbridge)

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team at a school in West Drayton that caters to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to start ASAP. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapted to the individual needs of SEMH students.
  • Develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate students with diverse learning abilities and emotional needs.
  • Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages positive behaviour and academic progress.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCO, and other specialists to meet students' individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and reports to parents, carers, and senior leadership.
  • Foster resilience, self-esteem, and a love for learning in students who have faced significant challenges.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • However, unqualified teachers with relevant experience
  • Experience working with students with SEMH, SEN, or other additional needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students who may present challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
