The School and Role

I'm recruiting on behalf of an excellent Independent School based in Catford. They are looking for a Secondary Teacher to teach across all subjects up to GSCE level.

The School is a Catford based Independent School and Alternative Provision with objective to reconnect, reengage and empower the learner who could possibly be at risk of becoming the subject of permanent exclusion.

They primarily work with learners in Key Stage 3 & 4.

They are keenly aware of the challenges that can and do impact on today’s young people. They understand that where learners become permanently excluded from school they can and do run the risk of becoming a Child Missing in Education (CME). Through its provision The School can offer to learners that final chance at realising their learning potential through the medium of an alternative provision alongside support and partnership to achieve one of two possible outcomes.

1. Supporting reintegration back into mainstream education

2. Supporting transition to a specialist school or college

The desired Secondary Teacher will:

  • Have a passion to teach outside of a mainstream environment, and a commitment to experience the unique opportunities of a special school
  • Have a kind, caring, and compassionate nature which is used to plan and deliver inclusive, fun, and inspiring lessons
  • Have a recognised UK teaching qualification
