We are seeking a dedicated and proactive SENCO to join a good school in the Hackney bordering North London areaand lead the provision for pupils with additional needs.

Key Duties

  • Oversee and coordinate SEN provision across the school, ensuring high-quality support for all pupils
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement effective strategies for children with diverse learning needs
  • Develop and manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and local authorities to provide the best outcomes for pupils
  • Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND regulations, policies, and best practices.Monitor and assess pupils' progress, adapting support strategies as needed.

What you need for this Secondary School Teacher position:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN teaching.A National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)
  • QTS NASENCO or NPQ
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience developing and implementing EHCPs and IEPs.Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to inclusion and supporting every child to reach their full potential
