We are seeking a Textiles Teacher who is passionate, dedicated, and ready to inspire students as part of our Visual Arts and Design and Technology team. This maternity cover role, initially for two terms, offers a rewarding teaching opportunity for someone looking to make an impact in Art and Design Education. You will be teaching DT Textiles GCSE, Fashion and Textiles GCSE, and A-Level Fashion and Textiles.

Job Opportunity: Textiles Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Position: Part-Time (0.8 FTE)
Salary: Inner London Teachers' Pay Scale, Wandsworth
Location: London borough of Wandsworth
Start Date: January 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach KS3 Design Technology and lead engaging classes in DT Textiles GCSE and Fashion and Textiles GCSE and A-Level (Art and Design Specification).
  • Motivate and inspire students, fostering a strong passion for Design Technology and Art.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to create a supportive, engaging learning environment.


Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant degree in Design Technology, Textiles, Art, or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach across multiple levels, with a focus on Art and Design and Textiles Education.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and diverse environment, with a focus on equality and safeguarding.
