We are working with a forward-thinking all-through Academy in Feltham who are currently recruiting Secondary Graduate tutors to join their school in September.

The Role

As a Graduate Tutor you will be based within a subject department and provide a range of support to the current teachers within the department.

Your role will include:

  • Providing lesson cover within the department where work is pre-set
  • Supporting the preparation of classes including resources and equipment
  • Providing support to individual students and leading small groups
  • Assisting with the department’s extra-curricular events and initiatives
  • Covering lessons across the wider secondary school as required

The school are specifically recruiting tutors to support in English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Technology but would consider graduates with any subject specialism and a true passion to pursue a career in teaching.

The Graduate Tutor roles are offered on an academic year contract from September 2024 to July 2025. There will be an option after this contract for Graduate Tutors to continue with the school in to the following academic year to complete their initial teacher training via the paid SCITT programme.

To apply for this role you must have

  • A Batchelors degree
  • A minimum of Grade C/4 in GCSE English and GCSE Maths
  • An interest in pursuing a career in education
  • Strong verbal and written English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A calm and approachable manner

This small all-through academy is based in Southwark. The school opened 10 years ago and has become a popular choice for families looking for a continuous and dedicated school experience.
