Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Greenwich, SE10
Day rate: 100 - 125
Hours: Full-time, Mon - Fri, 8.30 AM - 4.00 PM

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to step up in your career or a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant searching for a new opportunity?
You will work collaboratively with the KS1 team to support Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, while also playing a key role in assisting the school's expanding SEN provision. The school is currently redesigning its SEN support system, and this role offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in the implementation of tailored interventions for students with ASD and other additional learning needs.
Responsibilities as an HLTA:
- Collaborate with the KS1 team to plan and deliver lessons across Year 1 and Year 2.
- Adapt lesson materials to ensure accessibility for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Provide 1:1 support to children within the classroom environment as well as SEN provision.
- Assist in maintaining positive classroom behaviour and tracking student progress.
- Help establish stimulating and interactive study areas, encouraging independent learning.
- The school is currently redesigning and expanding its existing SEN provision. You will participate in delivering targeted interventions for students with additional learning needs, including those performing below age-related expectations and those with ASD.
HLTA Criteria:
- HLTA Qualification (Level 4) is essential; experienced Teaching Assistants with a Level 3 qualification are also encouraged to apply.
- Proven ability to support students with literacy and numeracy activities.
- Experience as an HLTA in a primary school setting, particularly within KS1, is desirable.
- Strong understanding of various SEN needs, including ASD and learning difficulties.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a team environment.
