Are you an experienced HLTA looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a therapeutic SEMH school, a highly respected charity-led independent school, to recruit a dedicated HLTA to cover small classes of around 5 students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage small classes of students with SEMH, providing tailored support for their unique needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons and activities, both 1:1 and in small group settings.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team and school therapists to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively and support students' emotional development.
  • Act as a key support to teachers and assist with lesson planning and curriculum development.
  • Foster a positive, therapeutic learning environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a school with SEMH students is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage small class sizes, ideally with children facing SEMH challenges.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH.
  • A flexible approach to working, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and environments.
