Pastoral Assistant - Secondary School - Immediate Start - Southwark, South East London

Remedy Education is currently seeking a Pastoral Assistant for a well-regarded secondary school in Southwark, South East London. This vital role is available for an immediate start and involves working closely with students, teachers, and families to ensure a positive and supportive school environment for Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them manage personal and academic challenges
- Work closely with the Pastoral Team and other school staff to promote student wellbeing
- Address behavioural issues with compassion and firmness, ensuring students feel supported
- Foster positive relationships with students and their families, maintaining open lines of communication
- Monitor and support students' attendance, punctuality, and academic progress
- Assist with any safeguarding concerns, adhering to school policies and procedures
- Be a visible presence around the school, particularly during key times like breaks and transitions, to support student welfare
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a pastoral or student support role
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- A caring, empathetic approach, with the ability to manage sensitive situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated pastoral team
- A genuine passion for student wellbeing and creating a positive school environment
Additional Information:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Paid up to £105 to £125 per day, term time only
- Located in Hackney, London - easily accessible via public transport
