Secondary Teaching Assistant


Secondary Teaching Assistants required to support pupils across KS3-KS4 at a Mainstream Secondary School in Brent. Previous experience working with SEND isessentialbut does NOT have to be school based experience i.e. Youth Mentor, Youth Support Worker, Alternative Provisions/Pupil Referral Unit


Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students with challenging behaviour in the classroom.
  • Implement individualized learning programs designed to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Promote positive behaviour management techniques
  • Assist with the development of personalized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor and track student progress,
  • Provide emotional support to students, helping them develop self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the well-being of all students.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to student records and documentation.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with secondary school students with challenging behaviour or SEND is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations and maintain composure in a classroom environment.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • An understanding of relevant legislation and policies related to SEND and safeguarding.
  • A relevant qualification or training in education, special needs, or a related field is advantageous.
