My client is a new independent school near West Drayton that caters to learners aged 5-11 with severe learning difficulties and Autism.

They passionately believes that every child has the right to maximise their potential, irrespective of their starting point in life. With a group of highly qualified and experienced specialist educators, they prioritises students in all its decisions and ensures a safe and caring environment. To help their students achieve, they innovate and use the best educational practices to become a leading SEN school in the U.K. Their new school site has many specialist sensory and therapeutic facilities to assist children's development. They are set in a large green, environmentally friendly location with plenty of opportunities for outdoor play and learning. The school is well connected to public transport and is 10 minutes bus ride from the West Drayton Elisabeth line.

Main tasks and jobs:

Take responsibility for the classroom during teachers' absence.

Line manage teaching assistants when required.

Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them in a play-based learning approach.

Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and progress.

Assist class teacher with the preparation of learning environments contributing to the achievement of Personal Learning Plans (PLPs)

Support the class teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting pupils' progress.

Collaborate with class teachers to support learners to develop self-regulation skills.

Candidate profile

Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.

Passion for working with SEN children.

The desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual.

Be positive and creative in meeting pupils' individual needs.

Desire to learn.

Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
