About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team covering London. In this role, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems across a variety of commercial and residential sites.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about fire safety, have a solid understanding of fire alarm systems, and be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. You will play a key role in ensuring that fire alarm systems are fully operational and compliant with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service & Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing, inspections, and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure they meet the required standards and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Repairs & Fault Finding: Diagnose and repair faults on a range of fire alarm systems, ensuring minimal disruption and a fast response to client needs.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the current fire safety regulations and maintain accurate records of all servicing and repairs completed.
  • Customer Communication: Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, providing clear communication and updates on work completed. Offer expert advice on fire alarm maintenance and safety practices.
  • Out-of-Hours & Overtime: Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota to attend emergency repairs when required. Willingness to work overtime for urgent jobs or projects.
  • Installation Support: Occasionally assist with the installation and commissioning of new fire alarm systems when required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven Experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems.
  • Fire Alarm Engineer Qualification: Relevant industry qualifications such as FIA (Fire Industry Association) or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Strong Fault Diagnosis Skills: Excellent problem-solving ability, with experience identifying and rectifying issues with fire alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Understanding of fire safety and compliance standards, including BS5839 and other relevant fire safety legislation.
  • Customer-Focused: Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Full UK Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required for this role as you will be covering multiple sites within London.
