Kirkwood Consulting is looking for an experienced Cyber Security trainer to join our team on a freelance basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing company that is passionate and enthusiastic about training and development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality training and assessments to a wide range of students across the Southeast on Boot Camps using L3 Cyber Security Practices as the main qualification.

The Role

To deliver L3 and L4 in Cyber Security Practices aimed at developing the knowledge and skills relating to cyber security practices with the view to seeking employment or proceeding to further study in this area. Students will need to demonstrate an understanding of cyber threats, hazards, risks, controls, measures, legislation and ethical conduct within cyber security and mitigations to protect organisations systems and people.

About You

All applicants must have excellent communication skills and be able to engage with colleagues, clients and learners with varied levels of skills, experience and knowledge, reliability and good organisational skills is essential, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the existing team.

Applicants must hold at least one of the following qualifications:

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, GICSP, GRID or GIAC.

Degree in Computer Science or similar subject.

As well as one of the above qualifications where applicable, trainers must also havethe following:

  • A formal training qualification, equivalent to a Level 3 Award in education and training (AET) or Level 4 Certificate of teaching in the lifelong sector (CTLLS).

Current experience of delivering cyber security training at level 3 or above.

  • IQA qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Hold an assessors award such as NVQ Assessor D32/D33 or Cava.
  • Current Enhanced DBS check.

Personal attributes and qualities

  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • The ability to contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An excellent work ethic with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience of teaching online using Teams or Google classroom
  • Training will be a mixture of face-to-face and online training.
