This is an exciting opportunity to join a family-owned builders’ merchant as they open a new Tottenham based store in March 2025.

As the Security Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, customers, and staff. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle a variety of situations calmly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Working 51 hours per week, shifts between 6am-5pm Monday to Friday, and alternate weekends
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desired
  • SIA card
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Good observational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to handle sensitive situations, using initiative to make quick decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the store manager on any aspect of theft or security.
  • Check for customers who behave suspiciously, and carry out search of suspects.
  • Check and collect customer receipts.
  • Keep an eye on the till area and monitor staff when doing till transactions.
  • Patrol all areas of the shop, including blind spots not just exits and counter.
  • Patrol back yard and alleyway.
  • Check showroom, basement, and storeroom.
  • Log all incidents to discuss with the store manager on a weekly basis.
  • Carry out random spot checks .
  • Check premises at close of day and leave with the last member of staff.
  • Monitor traffic wardens outside the shop and notify any customers who have vehicles parked outside.
  • Check delivery tickets on company vehicles.
