Security Guard
This is an exciting opportunity to join a family-owned builders’ merchant as they open a new Tottenham based store in March 2025.
As the Security Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, customers, and staff. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle a variety of situations calmly and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Working 51 hours per week, shifts between 6am-5pm Monday to Friday, and alternate weekends
- Previous experience in a similar role is desired
- SIA card
- Honesty and integrity
- Good observational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to handle sensitive situations, using initiative to make quick decisions.

Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the store manager on any aspect of theft or security.
- Check for customers who behave suspiciously, and carry out search of suspects.
- Check and collect customer receipts.
- Keep an eye on the till area and monitor staff when doing till transactions.
- Patrol all areas of the shop, including blind spots not just exits and counter.
- Patrol back yard and alleyway.
- Check showroom, basement, and storeroom.
- Log all incidents to discuss with the store manager on a weekly basis.
- Carry out random spot checks .
- Check premises at close of day and leave with the last member of staff.
- Monitor traffic wardens outside the shop and notify any customers who have vehicles parked outside.
- Check delivery tickets on company vehicles.
