Purpose of the Role
To provide quality guarding in a corporate environment, ensuring the safety and security of the building and tenants.
Will also rotate with other Security Officers in other positions comprised of Front of House/Pass Check, Response & Goods In/Post Room.
Will also be expected to cover the Control Room from time to time.
Reports to: Security Manager
Key Responsibilities
- To provide quality guarding in all positions
- To integrate and work well as a team.
- Follow instructions given by the Security Manager.
- To retain a good knowledge of working practices within the building.
- Prevent unauthorised access to the building.
- To carry out patrols when required, ensuring that all vulnerable points are checked, fire exits are kept clear at all times, reporting any breaches of this to the Security Manager.
- To adhere to the site-specific AIs and SOPs.
- Learn what clients occupy each floor to allow smoother handling of the Goods In/Post Room area.
- Good IT skills (Outlook, word, excel, etc.)
- Good knowledge of general Health and Safety
There may be additional duties dependant on the operational needs of the building.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential:
- Valid SG or DS SIA Licence
- Valid First Aid certificate (or undertake First Aid course shortly after successful employment)
- A minimum of 1 year experience in Security or Customer Service background
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Reliable, responsible, efficient, and good attention to detail
- Friendly and approachable character
- Always take pride in their appearance, ensuring good presentation.
- Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on-site.
- Able to demonstrate high-quality guarding and customer service to both clients and service users.
- Able to work as a team as well as on your own, and have the ability to be proactive, think on your feet and use initiative.
- Remain calm under pressure and confident in dealing with confrontational situations in a professional manner.
- Physically fit, able to complete site patrols internally/externally and able to stand/walk during shift.
Desired/Advantage:
- Valid CCTV Licence.
- Incident/Report Writing experience.
- ACT certificate.

Average of 56 hours a week – Days
Salary
£12.92 per hour
