Logistics Coordinator

Based: NE London. Hybrid (3 days office, 2 days WFH)

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our clients expanding team of 7. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating import (70%) and export (30%) operations, with a focus on bulk ocean shipments. This role involves handling shipping documentation, understanding Incoterms, and ensuring the efficient distribution of solvents and chemicals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong Excel proficiency, and the ability to negotiate the best prices with third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage import (70%) and export (30%) logistics operations.
  • Coordinate bulk ocean shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Ensure compliance with Incoterms and other international shipping regulations.
  • Oversee the distribution of solvents and chemicals, ensuring safe and efficient transits.
  • Liaise with third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, hauliers, shipping lines and customs brokers.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with vendors to secure the best prices.
  • Utilise Excel for data analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in ocean logistics operations within the UK (Essential) - Sponsorship is NOT provided.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in handling chemical shipments is preferred (though not essential)
