Deputy Manager | London, SE22 8PW | 40 hours per week, over 5 days | Up to £33,000 annually

They are looking for a driven and hard working Deputy Manager. This role will support and assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a nursery, ensuring the provision of high-quality childcare services.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Minimum level 3 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce Early Years qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualified experience working in a Preschool/Nursery setting with 0-5 year olds and demonstrate at least the following:
(a) Good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
(b) Awareness and understanding of the regulations relating to early years' education.
(c) Awareness of purposeful planning for children in childcare settings.
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritize work and delegate appropriately
- Empathy and understanding of children
- Excellent verbal and communication skills with children and parents
- Ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records
- IT Skills (Word & Excel)
- Can work as part of a team
- Able to work on own initiative & under pressure
- Manage the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager
- Resolve conflicts amicably
- Promote the nursery in a positive and professional manner

What will your role look like?
- To deputise for the Nursery Manager and be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Manager
- To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and development for children in the Nursery
- To support personnel within the Nursery and provide an excellent facilitator between management and staff
- Overall management responsibility for the Nursery in the absence of the Manager
- Assist the Manager in providing effective day to day management of the Nursery/Floor
- Assist the Manager in setting and implementing objectives for policy for the Nursery within the framework of the EYFS
- To be responsible for the supervision of staff, identifying their learning needs, planning training and advising key staff
- In conjunction with the Manager, formulate, operate and evaluate a yearly programme of activities that is suitable to the age range of children
- To work alongside the parents/carers of special needs children to achieve full integration within the Nursery and offer support and relevant developmental opportunities
- Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members
- Liaise with the Local authority and other professionals associated with the Nursery
- Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the Nursery is fulfilled
