MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a M&E Manager to work with a local authority based in Westminster. This in an interim position paying 420p/d Umbrella.
This role will include hybrid working.
About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Interim Mechanical & Electrical Manager to provide expert leadership and support across a broad range of mechanical and electrical services.
This key role involves managing contractors, overseeing performance, and ensuring that service delivery meets critical KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support across key service areas, including Electrical, Lighting, Lifts, Mechanical, Legionella, Domestic Gas, and Communal Gas services. Manage and oversee performance of contractors, ensuring compliance with agreed KPIs and quality standards. Lead and manage a team of 20+ staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, such as Programme Board and Contractor Core Group meetings.
Oversee the management of multi-million-pound contracts across both repairs and capital programmes. Provide detailed reporting and updates to senior management on service delivery, performance, and improvement areas.
What You'll Achieve: Deliver efficient and high-quality mechanical and electrical services within the council's housing portfolio. Ensure contractors meet performance standards and service delivery aligns with council objectives. Enhance reporting mechanisms and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
Skills & Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering and/or electrical services. Membership in a professional institute such as CIBSE, CIOB, or RICS. Extensive experience managing contracts and delivering large-scale programmes in social housing or a related environment. Proven ability to manage large teams and lead complex projects effectively. Strong contract management expertise, including overseeing multi-million-pound contracts. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to report effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
Work Style & Reporting: Work Pattern: Hybrid working, with both remote and on-site responsibilities. Reports To: Senior Management.
