About the Nursery:

We are a medium sized setting, accommodating around 45 children per day. We are open from 7:30-6:30 50 weeks per year, closing for a week in August and a week in December.  There are around 25 staff employed at the setting. We know each and every one of our children and families and enjoy the “home away from home” feel of our setting. 

Job description:

Responsible to nursery owner. Responsible for deputy manager, room leaders, practitioners, apprentices. 

To manage the nursery by:

Having effective communication and listening skills,

Ensuring Adequate staffing levels, staff training, supervisions and appraisals as well as team meetings,

Planning weekly staff rota,

Maintaining children's schedule and intake schedule,

Overseeing planning and implementation of EYFS curriculum, 

Ensuring management and staff understand their responsibilities and are supported to carry them out,

Ensuring safety of staff and children through adequate risk assessments, understanding of safeguarding and child protection etc 

Ideally to have training or background of SENDCO

Ideally to have understanding of the early years funding expansion (15-30 hours),

Ideally to have knowledge of safer recruitment 

Candidate must hold or obtain a valid enhanced DBS as a condition of employment.
