I'm working on behalf of a fantastic Secondary special school in Lewisham that are looking for 2 LSA's to join the school with an immediate start. The school look after students with ASD and PMLD (among other special needs) so require people who feel confident working with ASD and challenging behaviour.

This school are based on such beautiful grounds and having placed a number of candidates in this school over the years - I can confidently say how lovely a team they are there. The school have a couple of LSA positions available currently, they can be accommodating based around your areas of expertise (age and subject).

The role

The role of LSA will involve a mixture of general classroom support and 1-1 work in a range of different subjects and classes. Being proactive is absolutely essential to be a success as an LSA - they require people who really want to be there and make a difference!

In the role you may work with challenging behaviour or have to diffuse tricky situations - being calm and confident is a necessity. Ideally you would have worked in a special school before but they are open to applications from Support Workers with extensive ASD experience, as well as those candidates with more mainstream experience.
