Innovative and Creative Alternative Provision located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting a 1:1 Behaviour LSA / Behaviour TA to start immediately.

The successful Behaviour LSA / Behaviour TA will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and those exhibiting very challenging behaviours. The role involves providing 1:1 support, working within the classroom environment, and implementing strategies to de-escalate behaviour.

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Support students in developing self-regulation, social skills, and coping strategies.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring students are engaged and supported in their learning.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to assessment reports.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging trust and respect.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare of all students.
  • Proven experience working with children and young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, child development, psychology, or related fields are desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS check and relevant clearances required.
