Timeplan Education is recruiting for an experienced BSL Learning Support Assistant qualified in British Sign Language Level 2/3 to work with a deaf/hard of hearing pupil. You will support the pupil with hearing impairment by providing BSL interpretation in the classroom and during extracurricular activities. You will help the pupil with developing their BSL skills, which will enable them to become more independent.

Job responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with Hearing impairment
  • Communicate with pupils using BSL
  • Comfortable supporting pupils with various Learning Difficulties
  • Ability to engage and support pupils
  • Assist with personal care if needed
  • Supervising pupils behaviour

Job requirements:

  • Previous experience in supporting children or Adults
  • Level 2/3 in British Sign Language minimum (BSL)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid DBS check registered online with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available Full-Time, 5 days a week
  • Able to commit to 3-6 months
