Cover Supervisors Needed in East London

At Engage, we’re working to recruit full-time or part-time cover supervisors who can work across a multitude of secondary schools in East London to cover planned and unplanned absences.

You can set your own availability each week so we welcome applications from those available part time or full time, however, you would need to be available at least 2 days per week.

About the role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be supervising pupils carry out pre-planned work when teaching staff are off work for a certain period (for example, sickness or paternity leave). The main job of a Cover Supervisor is to:

  • Manage a classroom and behaviour while ensuring that pupils complete the work which has been set.
  • Supervising the students and ensuring they complete set tasks
  • Managing behaviour
  • Assisting pupils when they have questions
  • Following the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Collecting the completed work and handing it to the Head of the Department
  • Providing feedback on the lesson and pupils

About you

  • Experience working with students aged 11-16

  • Flexibility to work on different subjects

  • Confident managing behaviour

  • An ability to build rapport with students

  • Have a fun but firm presence

  • An interest in education

We welcome applications from candidates with any level of experience, although previous experience of working with students with challenging behaviour will be an advantage.
