The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Housing Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is at the heart of our mission, ensuring that our residents receive the highest level of service and support. As a Housing Officer, you will be the first point of contact for tenants, managing a caseload of properties and working closely with residents to address their needs and concerns.
Key Responsibilities of Housing Officer:
- Tenancy Management:Oversee the allocation of properties, manage tenancy agreements, and ensure compliance with housing regulations.
- Resident Support:Provide advice and support to residents on a range of issues, including rent arrears, maintenance requests, and community engagement.
- Property Inspections:Conduct regular inspections to ensure properties are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Community Engagement:Work closely with residents to foster a sense of community, addressing any issues that arise and promoting positive relationships.
- Conflict Resolution:Handle complaints and disputes between tenants in a fair and impartial manner, aiming for resolution through mediation and support.
- Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of all interactions with residents, ensuring all data is kept up to date and in line with GDPR requirements.
About You:
- Experience:Previous experience in housing management or a related field is essential. Knowledge of housing legislation and best practices in tenant support is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills:You must be an excellent communicator, able to engage with residents from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs.
- Problem-Solving:A proactive approach to problem-solving is crucial, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- Organized:Strong organizational skills are a must, as youll be managing a varied workload with competing priorities.
- Empathy:A genuine passion for helping people and improving their living conditions is key to succeeding in this role.
