Job Description: We are seeking a committed and empathetic Housing Support/Solutions Officer to join our Housing team. This role involves delivering effective support to individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness, helping them access suitable housing options, and providing ongoing support to sustain their tenancies. You will work with a wide range of clients, ensuring they receive tailored advice, assistance, and resources to move towards secure housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to clients seeking housing assistance, ensuring they understand available options and support.
  • Assess the housing needs of individuals and families, conducting interviews and needs assessments to develop action plans.
  • Facilitate housing solutions for individuals at risk of homelessness, including liaising with housing providers, landlords, and partner agencies.
  • Support clients in navigating the housing application process, ensuring they are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
  • Work with vulnerable individuals to identify barriers to housing and connect them with appropriate services, including financial assistance, mental health support, and social services.
  • Monitor clients' housing outcomes, providing ongoing support to ensure tenancy sustainability and prevent homelessness recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and case outcomes in compliance with local authority procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments, external agencies, and housing providers to deliver holistic, effective housing solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with housing policies, local authority regulations, and housing market trends to provide informed advice to clients.
