Housing Support WorkerBethnal Green, London6 months temp ongoing40 hours per weekWe are looking for a dedicated Housing Support Worker to join a Housing Association based in Bethnal Green. This service provides accommodation and support to adults suffering from homelessness. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality support.THE ROLEAs a Housing Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting residents and ensuring their safety and wellbeing overnight. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside the team to create a safe, welcoming environment for residents
  • Building supportive relationships with residents
  • Providing informal support, monitoring vulnerable residents' welfare, and reporting concerns
  • Responding to emergencies and liaising with on-call managers and emergency services as needed
  • Ensuring communal areas are safe, secure, and clean throughout the night
  • Conducting routine patrols and health and safety checks
  • Managing overnight referrals and maintaining accurate records of incidents

THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience working with homeless individuals, they will possess:

  • Experience responding calmly to challenging behaviour
  • Understanding of adult safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to work within a team and independently, using initiative
  • Basic literacy and report-writing skills
  • Understanding of health and safety, particularly lone working procedures

THE CONTRACTThis is a 6-month temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent.Shifts are 5 days a week, alternating 1 week of early shifts and 1 week of late shifts.The pay range for the role is £15.70 to £16.97 per hour LTD company rate.
