We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Support Worker with experience in working with autistic individuals displaying challenging behaviours. This role involves using PECS to enhance communication skills and arranging community activities to develop social skills.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work alongside another carer to support a young man with autism, focusing on communication and social skills development.
  • Utilise PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) to aid in communication.
  • Plan and facilitate various activities within the community to help develop social skills and manage behaviours.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule from Monday to Friday, 12 PM to 4 PM, although hours may vary based on activity timings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Support Worker, specifically with autistic individuals who have challenging behaviours.
  • Proficient in using PECS for communication.
  • Experience in organising and facilitating social and developmental activities in the community.
