Learning Support Assistant | Merton (SW19)

Our partner schools in Merton are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join a dynamic team. As an integral part of the school community, you will work closely with teachers to support students, including those with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with their learning activities and classroom tasks, providing support tailored to individual needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Support students with special educational needs, including implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and providing one-to-one or small group support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and reporting any concerns to teaching staff.
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • An understanding of special educational needs and how to support diverse learners.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
