Academics LTD are currently working with this fantastic Primary school to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to work with a child with SEN. Applications would be most welcome from graduates who are ready to start a career in education or a person with a Level 3 childcare qualification.

Full training will be provided however experience working in a Primary school would be advantageous. You will need to have some experience working with children, for example tutoring, baby sitting or youth work. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working with children, parents, teachers and occupational therapists.

You will be working with a child in Year 3 with Cerebral Palsy on a 1:1 basis for the main part of your role and you may be required for support in different classes as and when required. You will be working closely with the SENCo (SEN Coordinator) to help deliver the child's educational health plan. This would be the perfect role for someone is ready to start a career as a Primary teacher or educational psychologist or an experienced Learning Support Assistant who would like to gain more experience in this area of SEN. The child is mobile, displays excellent behaviour and has no personal care needs. He is in the early stages of learning English as he moved to the UK and joined the school in year 2. Experience working with children with English as an additional language would be advantageous, but not essential.
