An Independent Church of England Academy for girls aged 11-18 in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their inclusive and nurturing school community. This role is essential in providing targeted support to low-attaining students, as well as those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one and small-group support to students with SEND, EAL, and those who are low attainers, helping them access the curriculum and succeed academically.
- Working closely with teachers to implement personalised learning strategies, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to excel.
- Assisting in the development of social, communication, and study skills, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, adapting your support approach as needed to meet individual needs.
- Collaborating with the SEN team, Teachers, and parents to create and maintain effective support plans tailored to each student.
- Experience working with students with SEND, EAL, or those who require additional academic support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every student in the school community thrive.
