Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with expertise in supporting students with challenging behaviour and diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering an inclusive learning environment and supporting the diverse needs of our students, including those who are Non-Verbal and have Sensory Processing Difficulties.

The positions will start as temporary and have the option to move onto permanent contracts after 12 academic weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with students exhibiting challenging behaviour and diverse learning needs to provide individualised support and guidance in both academic and social settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement effective strategies for student success
  • Create and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of students with diverse learning styles, including those with Autism and ADHD
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with challenging behaviour, Autism and ADHD
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for effectively supporting students SEN
  • Patience and empathy when working with students who have diverse learning needs
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic educational setting, accommodating the needs of students
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the classroom,

Day-to-Day

  • Provide one-on-one support to students in various academic and social settings
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans
  • Collaborate with teachers to modify and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students,
  • Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues to ensure a cohesive support system for students
