We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our Primary Mainstream Inclusion Unit, supporting pupils with Autism in Lewisham. Learning Support Assistant - About the role:

8:30am - 4pm Monday - Friday

Weekly Pay - 400-500 per week

Key Responsibilities of a Learning support assistant-
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with Autism within the mainstream classroom setting
- Work closely with class teachers to implement individualised learning strategies and behavioural support plans
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and communication development
- Help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment for all pupils
- Assist in preparing and adapting teaching materials to meet the specific needs of pupils
- Monitor and track the progress of individual students and provide feedback to the teaching team
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism or other SEN needs, ideally within a mainstream school setting
- Strong understanding of autism and inclusive education practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils
- A commitment to the holistic development of children, both academically and socially
