Horizon Teachers are currently working with a school in the borough of Haringey to find an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a student in a year 5 mainstream classroom. The school is a mainstream primary with students that have varying special needs in the classes, these students require 1:1 assistance to help them overcome their barriers to learning and provide them with the assistance they need to keep up with their classmates.

The school are searching for someone who is compassionate and confident. They rely on their support staff to ensure that the students are comfortable and properly cared for when in school. This, coupled with learning plans to help children with special needs, ensures that each student is given the best possible opportunity to achieve their full potential and have the best possible start heading into their adult lives.

The school is seeking someone with:
  • Experience working with children who have learning difficulties.
  • Experience in a mixed class of children with Autism Spectrum Condition.
  • Experience with students/adults with physical difficulty.
  • The ability to take the initiative and engage with children to support them in their work and play.
