6th form College located in the London Borough of Lewisham is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4pm to start straight away and into the new year!

The successful LSA position involves providing 1:1 and small group support to 6th form students with a variety of SEN such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviour. The new Learning Support Assistant (LSA) must have experience working with children and young people in a college classroom setting.

  • The successful 1:1 LSA will have experience supporting children in the classroom in a similar position OR as a LSA / Learning Mentor / SEN TA/ Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant.
  • You have experience working with children & young people at 16+ ages with a range of SEN such as; ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviour and or SEMH
  • Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one ASAP
  • Live in easy commutable distance to the London borough of Lewisham
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can successfully build a strong rapport with young people in a non judgemental way.
  • Proactive, empathetic, patient, resilient with the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
  • Flexible and adaptable when it comes to meeting the varying needs of your students.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Provide individualised support to post-16 students with ADHD, SEMH needs, and challenging behaviour.
  • Can develop and implement behaviour management plans relation to educational staff and specialists.
