Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH and ASD. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH and ASD
- Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans
- Collaborate with teachers to create and adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of all students
- Support students during classroom activities and help them develop positive social skills
- Communicate regularly with parents and other staff members to provide updates on student progress
Qualifications
- Experience working with students who have SEMH and ASD
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Day-to-day
- Work closely with teachers to identify and address the needs of students with SEN
- Provide support during classroom activities and help students stay focused and engaged
- Communicate with parents and other staff members to ensure a collaborative and supportive approach to student development
- Assist in the implementation of behaviour plans and provide feedback on their effectiveness
