Role Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who is passionate about education and interested in pursuing a future career in teaching. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience and training, making it the perfect stepping stone for those who aspire to qualify as a teacher.

You will work closely with experienced teachers, providing support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or those requiring additional help. This role will give you invaluable insight into classroom management, lesson planning, and teaching strategies, preparing you for a successful career in education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEN or additional learning needs in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist teachers with the preparation and delivery of lessons.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with students to help them achieve their learning objectives.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and report back to teachers and the SEN department.
  • Engage with wider school activities and events to develop your teaching experience.
  • Attend staff training and development sessions aimed at preparing you for teacher training programmes.
