Outstanding FE College located in the London Borough of Greenwich is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This role would be working 5 days a week and to start immediately.

The successful LSA will provide high-quality support to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Behavioural Difficulties, and Down Syndrome. The role involves working both 1:1 and within classroom settings to help students achieve their full potential.

  • You have experience working as either an LSA OR Behaviour Mentor / SEN Teaching Assistant / Teaching Assistant / Child Residential Worker / SEN Support Worker
  • Experience working with children and young people with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Behavioural Difficulties, and Down Syndrome.
  • Proven ability to provide effective 1:1 support and manage small group activities.
  • Strong understanding of SEND and the challenges faced by students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEND.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs within the school environment.
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with SEND, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet individual needs
  • Assist the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and supporting students with behavioural difficulties.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Down Syndrome.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and coping strategies.
