Post-16 College located in the London Borough of Lewisham is recruiting a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA).  This is an 8:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday post to start immediately.

The ideal LSA will have a strong background in providing 1:1 and classroom support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and challenging behaviours. This role is essential in helping our students achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

  • You have experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
  • Experience supporting children and young people as either; LSA OR SEN TA / Behaviour Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant / Child Support Worker
  • Providing tailored support and assistance to individual students with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.
  • Developing and implementing personalised learning plans in collaboration with teachers and SENCO.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assisting the classroom teacher / lecturing delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
  • Support small groups of students in their learning activities.
  • You are able to build a strong, positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Able to implement behaviour management strategies to support students with challenging behaviours.
  • Work with students to develop their social skills and emotional regulation.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.
  • You have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one if required ASAP.
  • You live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Lewisham.
