We are currently seeking a Mental Health Support Assistant to work with secondary school students aged 11-16 in Camden. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about promoting mental health and wellbeing in young people.

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will provide both 1:1 and group support to students facing emotional and mental health challenges. You will play a key role in ensuring that students feel heard, supported, and equipped to manage their wellbeing. This position is ideal for someone with experience in a supportive role who is eager to make a difference in young people's lives.

The role of the Mental Health Support Assistant involves collaborating with school staff, counsellors, and other professionals to deliver tailored mental health strategies. You will assist in running workshops, facilitating mindfulness activities, and offering guidance to students who may need extra support. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, your goal will be to create a safe environment where students can express themselves freely and work through their challenges.

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of mental health issues affecting young people. Ideally, the Mental Health Support Assistant will have experience in schools or similar settings, but most importantly, you will be passionate about helping students improve their emotional wellbeing.

Key qualities we seek in a Mental Health Support Assistant include excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well in a team. Any qualifications in mental health support, counselling, or youth work would be advantageous but are not required.
