Monitoring and Employment Officer

Lewisham Council are looking for a Monitoring and Employment Officer to join their NEET Team to provide mentoring and employment support for young people aged 16-24 across the borough. As a Monitoring and Employment Officer you will:

  • Provide a comprehensive, effective and integrated, systemically informed mentoring and employability service to support young people resident in Lewisham aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training
  • Seek out and work with young residents who are furthest from the labour market and experiencing multiple forms of disadvantage and/or have significant additional support needs
  • Adopt an empathetic and caring approach to help young people
  • Provide a written monthly performance update and forecast of activity and outcomes for upcoming months

Requirements

  • Awareness of and a commitment to Quality of Access and Opportunity in a diverse community
  • Extensive knowledge of the current and developing national context in which Careers Information Advice and Guidance for young adults sits
  • Knowledge of implementing systems to gather and accurately process data
  • Previous experience within a similar role
