About the Role:

Do you have a passion for supporting childrens welfare and well-being? Have you got experience working with vulnerable children or children with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) needs?

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated dedicated Pastoral Manager to work at a secondary school in Brent from February half-term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Head of Year on all matters relating to the pastoral care of students, with a particular focus on vulnerable leaners
  • Promote excellent attendance and punctuality of all students through close work with students, parents, the attendance team and outside agencies.
  • Work alongside the safeguarding team to ensure students are safe in and beyond school
  • Monitor behaviour and apply a range of intervention strategies where necessary to support both students and teachers.
  • Be highly visible on corridors both at student social times and during lessons
  • Effective communication with parents /carers /outside agencies to offer support and personalised intervention strategies for students

About You:

  • Experience working with vulnerable children or children with SEMH needs
  • Passionate: A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people.
  • Organised: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Desirable: Previous experience working with young people, either in a teaching, tutoring or mentoring capacity, would be advantageous but is not essential.
