- We wish to appoint a Reflection Room Manager working within a unified and positive pastoral team in Camden.
- This is an excellent career opportunity for a dedicated education professional to lead an area of the school, working with young people in a Camden based PRU setting.
- The role will involve managing the reflection room, engaging young people to reflect on their behaviour and make progress with their learning.
- This is a pastoral role and would suit an experienced pastoral or youth worker, behaviour manager or mentor with experience in either mainstream or alternative provision settings in a UK school environment
The Reflection Room Manager Duties
- You will ensure that pupils are supported both in terms of their learning and their emotional well being.
- The Reflection Room Manager will address matters that arise skilfully and promptly dealing with behaviour, attitude, standards and engagement.
- The role would suit somebody with previous experience of working in a school or with young adults, who has a keen interest in enabling young people to fulfil their potential and has an ability to develop strong relationships with students, whilst maintaining high expectations.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of work and programmes of support for the students referred to the room including liaising with the Senior Leadership Team, Heads and Deputy Heads of Year and wider school leadership team.
- The successful candidate will work alongside a small group of students from 11-16 years old, monitoring and tracking their progress and help them successfully reintegrate into the main learning environment.
- Reflection Room Manager will model good pupil conduct, dress code and professionalism. They are exemplars of the school culture and instrumental in removing barriers to enable pupils to meet the demands of the classroom.

- The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the role that excellent behaviour management approaches can play in supporting personal development for young people.
- You will be determined to support all students, including those who are disadvantaged and those with additional educational needs.
- You will be focused on developing student's confidence, skills and knowledge, so that they believe they can be successful in their own lives.
- This post requires a dynamic, proactive and caring person to support, mentor and work alongside students who need additional time to self-regulate, complete their work and reflect on their approach to learning.
- The successful candidate will have good English and literacy skills, good ICT skills and be able to communicate effectively with parents and staff to support the students to be successful.
- The successful candidate will engage with parents to build and maintain positive relationships with the community and maintain excellent records of intervention, providing a graduated approach to pastoral support.
