My client requires a determined, persistent and adaptable SENIOR MENTAL HEALTH RECOVERY WORKER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work alongside the staff team to create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment

- Provide expertise in mental health, alcohol and drug misuse

- Build trusting, supportive relationships with service users with dual diagnosis/complex needs

- Carry a case load of at least 5 cases

- Interview and book in new referrals

- Carry out initial needs assessments with recovery workers

- Undertake needs and risk assessments

- Facilitate peer support group activities

- Participate in rota duties across a seven day rota and be able to shift lead

COMPETENCIES INCLUDE:

- Good knowledge of mental health, alcohol and drug misuse, their effects and treatment options

- Solid experience working with this client group and knowledge of Care Programme Approach (CPA) processes

- Understanding of main medications used to treat mental health problems

- Working knowledge of Recovery model and delivering support within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE)

- Ability to work with other agencies to ensure that integrated support services are provided

- Knowledge and practical application of adult safeguarding needs

- Understanding of Health and Safety in a hostel setting and dealing with emergencies alone

- Work within a rota system including nights and weekends and lead on a shift
