Specal Needs Support Assistant

(Part time, 8 hours a week) 1 year contract

4pm- 6pm (Tuesday- Friday)
Camden, North West London
£570 - £600 per Month (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The role: 
Working as part of a residental team to support a pupil who is a 16 year old male who requires 2:1 support and has a Positive Behaviour Support Plan. His  behaviour day to day can be impulsive and unpredictable, which stems from the barriers that he can experience in expressing himself as he is a nonverbal communicator.  

He is on the Autistic spectrum and requires experienced confident support workers to take him out, he is active and has a gym membership and would like to swim regularly.  His package is for 8 hours a week support (2:1 so 16 hours total commissioned) this is to be provided flexibly arranged with his Mother but ideally over 2 sessions 1 after school and 1 on the weekend.  Hours are flexible but if you feel like you would be a good fit for the role. We would like to hear from you!

The desired Children's Mental Heath Support Assistants will have:

  • Have a caring, supportive and nurturing personality
  • Have experience of working with those with SEN needs
  • Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • Be someone who is patient, caring and adaptable to each young person you will support
