Are you passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ communities and helping those affected by domestic abuse? We are looking for a compassionate, skilled Duty Worker to join our Domestic Abuse Services team at a leading LGBTQ+ anti-violence charity.

Role Overview:

As a Duty Worker, you will be the first point of contact for those reaching out for support with domestic abuse. You will provide immediate assistance, conduct initial assessments, and connect service users with appropriate resources, ensuring that those in need receive the care and protection they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact for individuals accessing domestic abuse services via phone, email, or other channels.
  • Carry out initial risk assessments to evaluate the urgency of needs and provide crisis support where necessary.
  • Provide information, advice, and referrals to help service users access ongoing support.
  • Liaise with caseworkers to ensure individuals are referred to the appropriate long-term services.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes while adhering to confidentiality and safeguarding policies.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of services to improve outcomes for service users.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, violence, or trauma (experience with LGBTQ+ communities is highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with an empathetic, non-judgemental approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to respond to individuals in crisis.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, particularly in relation to LGBTQ+ issues.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when required.
