Disability and Wellbeing Consultant
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Disability and Wellbeing Consultant to lead on workplace adjustments and champion an inclusive and supportive working environment for all employees. This role is central to ensuring that individuals with disabilities or long-term health conditions can thrive, delivering expert advice, coordinating adjustments, and promoting awareness across the organisation.
As the key contact for workplace adjustments, you will work closely with employees, managers, internal departments, and external organisations to provide timely and effective support. You will oversee case management, resolve complex issues, and ensure legal compliance, all while fostering a culture that values diversity, equity, and wellbeing. Your role will also include delivering training, upskilling managers, and contributing to the development of inclusive policies, particularly around recruitment and onboarding.
Beyond individual support, you will lead on strategic initiatives such as improving mental health provisions, enhancing accessibility across the organisation, and ensuring best practice in disability inclusion. You will oversee an annual programme of events to raise awareness, work towards enhanced disability accreditation, and collaborate with key stakeholders to continuously improve the employee experience.
Requirements for the Role
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Expertise in disability inclusion and workplace adjustments, with a strong understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and other relevant legislation.
- Experience in case management, particularly supporting employees with disabilities or long-term health conditions, and resolving complex workplace issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively across different teams.
- Knowledge of workplace wellbeing strategies, mental health support, and best practices for supporting neurodiverse colleagues.
- Experience delivering training and awareness sessions to upskill managers and employees in disability confidence and inclusive working practices.
- Project management skills, with the ability to coordinate initiatives, manage budgets, and drive improvements in accessibility and inclusion.
- A proactive and compassionate approach, with a commitment to creating a workplace where all employees can reach their full potential.
If you are passionate about disability inclusion, workplace wellbeing, and making a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.
