We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated UQ Support Worker with NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care,to join our team in a home-based setting in SouthLondon. In this role, you will provide care and support to young people who need assistance with everyday living, helping them develop the skills to become more independent. You will offer guidance, encouragement, and support as they work towards achieving their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical and emotional support to young people who need help with personal care, education, social interaction, and life skills.
- Assist with daily tasks, such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Support the physical and emotional well-being of young people, ensuring they feel heard and understood.
- Help plan and attend appointments, educational activities, and social events.
- Create a positive and nurturing environment where young people feel safe and encouraged to grow.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and other support professionals, to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor and track the progress of the young people in your care, documenting and sharing relevant information with senior staff.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check with online update service (must be current).
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Mandatory)
- Prior experience supporting young people with additional needs or learning disabilities.
- A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them achieve their full potential.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
- Experience with behavior management strategies and an understanding of safeguarding protocols is desirable.
- A relevant qualification in health and social care, youth work, or a similar field is preferred, but not essential.
