TPP are recruiting a Governance Officer on behalf of our client, a well-established professional body.

The Role:

As a Governance Officer, you will provide essential support to the Board, Council, and various Committees. You'll be responsible for servicing and coordinating a range of high-level meetings, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding the highest standards of governance. The Governance manager will be on hand to advise on governance and you will be supporting on governance administration projects.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive secretariat support, including preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, and tracking actions.
  • Manage the cycle of elections and appointments for Council members and committee chairs.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all committee-related queries, ensuring member records and information are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth scheduling and running of all governance activities.
  • Provide support for ad hoc policy projects and maintain up-to-date knowledge of organisational byelaws and governance procedures.

Essential requirements:

  • Solid experience in a committee-led environment, ideally within a representative body.
  • Good understanding of governance is ideal with a proven track record of handling confidential information.
  • Excellent written communication and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Calm, solution-focused, and able to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in IT with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
