Job purpose

Provide day to day administration support, dealing with a wide range of tasks including the calculation of members benefits as well as checking other pension administrators work. Deal with general day to day administration activities within prescribed timescales and assist with enquiries in relation to retirement savings in a timely manner.



Principal accountabilities

Process automated and manual calculations for Defined Benefit (Final Salary, Career Average and Cash Balance) and Defined Contribution members in line with Trust Deed and Rules. (to include leavers, retirements, deaths, transfers in and transfers out).

Peer review other pension administrators work

Take responsibility for individual casework, as allocated by the administration team manager, ensure that contracted Service Level Agreement performance targets and quality standards are met. Liaise with the Administration Manager on specific member cases as required, in a prompt and professional manner.

Deal with monthly allocated tasks and meet Payroll deadlines.

Offer administration and practical support to other team members, as required.

Answer telephone and email queries responding in a friendly, helpful manner. Take ID calls to verify members identity.

Deal with general benefit enquiries received by email, post or phone including resolving queries raised in respect of the JM benefits portal.

Carry out member one to one appointments to discuss retirement options.

Take on other administration and team work that are within the employee's skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed.

Assist with projects as required (i.e. benefit statement and pension increases testing and letter production)
